Emperor Serenity day 3 Dives

The Best of Maldives is one of the most frequent routes of Maldives. Though it comes under different names, in principle most of the boats include North Male, Rashdoo, Ari, Vaavu and South Malé Atoll. Sometimes done like this, sometimes the other way around so that boats are not visiting the same places all at once. The common route, but nothing common about it, with some luck you can see the highlights of Maldives in a week time. Here is how the Emperor Serenity organises it.

The bell rings for the briefing and a very detailed one is given with the help of the big flatscreen in the lounge area. No matter who of the staff is doing the briefing it is always detailed, but nevertheless to the point and with some humor. Once ready everybody moves to the spacious dhone and prepares his or her equipment for the usually short boatride. Well preparing . . . you just connect your regulator and that's pretty much it.  The current is checked on the spot and the groups jump individually from the boat.

Underwater the instructor is guiding and controlling the group, but I have to mention that I don't think anyone feels restricted by that. It just all goes in a harmonious way without stress. We dived with Issy who is normally in charge on the Emperor Virgo but due to renovation is now on Serenity. The many years of experience are visible as his guiding is at all time pleasant and correct. He is lucky this week as the 5 divers he has in his group are all very experienced, but we meet also the other groups with quite less experience divers and it just all goes smoothly and kindly.

As we are only diving two days yet with the crew of the Serenity perhaps it is better just to stop talking an give you some impression of some of what we already saw in this short time. Check the slide-show above and definitely the video of the Octopus love . . . a heartbreaker!

Will do our best to post some more about the dives in the coming days.
