Adora day 1 Arrival

Adora Liveaboard Cabin

After a long time in Hulhumale today Alla and me stepped aboard the Adora. Hulhumale being the future suburb of Malé is still a work in progress and after a week in between the construction sites with noise and concrete dust at once we remembered why we are so long in Maldives. Arriving on board made us realize that this was the Maldives that concurred our hearts a long time ago.  Only stepping on board was enough to change our mood . . .  divemood!

When you browse for boats on our site, the first one you will probably notice is the Adora.  A well chosen name as it it pops up alphabetically first and indeed the boat is adorable.  Even if the boat is only build in 2014, don't assume a lack of experience here as it is managed by the same people who manage for many years the Stingray and Eagle ray. Successful veterans in the Maldivian dive safari business who decided it was time to create this boat.

sideyhassanWe were picked up today by Sidey (in the pic in front) the dive leader for this trip who is divides his time between the Adora and Stingray since the last four years. Together with King and Mohamed they will be the guides for us for the next week. On the back of the picture you see Hassan, who just finished his divemaster and is gaining experience by diving as much as he can. A great team when you think about that we are only 10 divers on the boat for this trip, 4 from Russia, 1 from Cyprus, two from Korea and then . . . there is us that seem to belong nowadays more to Maldives. Maybe this trip we will sing somewhere “we are the world”.

equipemnt2After a thorough briefing of the boat and the route plan we were shown our beautiful Ocean view rooms on the upper deck, where we started to work on getting all the equipment ready for tomorrow as the bell will ring at 6 o’clock so we can quietly make all our dives within the daylight and perhaps even add a night dive. Chargers, cameras, batteries too much to get it all in order and ready for not missing that single moment that you have been waiting for. Hope it all works out and we can give you some great impressions in the next coming days.

beerMore about the room, the dives and all tomorrow as it has been a long day and only a small time on the boat so far. Would not been fair to give our impression now as it all needs to sink in a bit. For now enjoying a nice draft beer (What else can you do if the barman is called Lucky) and hope tomorrow I can give you some more in-depth report about our experiences.  So far it all looks good! Goodnight to all of you!
